Selina Tulum

My first Selina experience and I loved it! Staff are very friendly. Organised activities by the hosts and they help bring travellers together. Karen runs a beautiful yoga class which is the perfect way to start your day. Would definitely recommend this hostel!

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I don’t know if I can call it a hostel, it was a beach resort ! This was the perfect way to do tulum in a budget(ish)

The Selina was overpriced given the lack of activities and atmosphere. We were told of free entry to their beach club which only had an event in one of the 6 nights we were there. The bathtub was also dirty with many stains, as well as no hand towel in the bathroom. Staff took the AC remote from us, then pretended like we’d lost it including a great performance from one of their men looking for it in our room. Finally got it back, only for someone to come into our room while we were sleeping in there to take the remote back. They then tried to claim they don’t give the AC remote out to guests and claiming maybe it was our roommate who took it, even though we were the only people in the room. One of our friends also had her phone stolen by one of the drug dealers that are allowed to walk around the hostel offering people drugs. One of them employees asked for photos with our friend in her bikini and then bombarded her messages afterwards. The service by receptionists is horrible, expect to wait 3/4 hours and to have to remind them if they tell you something will be 10 minutes. They don’t clean anything in the rooms. They have very limited sun-beds available to guests and expect you to pay a minimum of USD65 to go the their beach club during the day. They make up the prices for entry to their beach club as and when they like. The wifi is also very poor.
