Fort William is close to many nature’s wonders: Ben Nevis – the highest peak in the UK, Glen Coe – a glen of volcanic origins and Glen Nevis – a glen with stunning waterfalls. Conquer the mountains or explore the hiking trails of the Highlands. Don’t forget to check out the historical town centre: its cosy pubs and traditional local shops invite the visitors to pop in. A trip to Scotland wouldn’t be complete without enjoying a glass of Highland single malt – or if you are more of a beer drinker, a pint of local ale.

The list of outdoor activities available in the self-acclaimed ‘outdoor capital of the UK’ is endless: try kayaking, white water rafting, mountain biking, skiing or climbing. A must-do activity for Harry Potter fans and train enthusiasts, is the Jacobite Steam Train trip from Fort William to Mallaig. Described as one of the greatest train journeys in the world, the round trip takes you through the extremes – from the shadow of the highest peak of the country to the deepest sea water loch in Europe, and over the famous Glenfinnan viaduct.
